Spring is finally here and we know what that means. No, it’s not quite time to eat our weight in chocolate eggs. Mother’s Day is just around the corner! I do love Mother’s Day as it’s a chance to show my mum just how much she means to me. As I’ve taken my first steps into adulthood, I’ve realised now more than ever how much she has done for me so it’s really important that I give something back. Here are my 8 gift ideas that will show your mum just how much she means to you, and will score you some brownie points 😉 …
Dinner
Who doesn’t love going out for dinner? Better yet, who loves not having to pay for dinner? Treat your mum this Mother’s Day by taking her to her favourite restaurant. It doesn’t need to be anything super fancy either – many of the decent restaurant chains will have special Mother’s Day deals. Here are some of my favourites:
ASK Italian – 3 courses and prosecco, £19.95
Turtle Bay – Free Bellini for mum the entire week when dining in (4-11 March)
Giraffe World Kitchen – Free Main for Mum
Flowers
Flowers are a great gift if you unfortunately can’t be with your mum on Mother’s Day. When I lived in Liverpool, I always used to order flowers online so they would get delivered straight to my mum. There are some beautiful bouquets out there but just remember to order nice and early if you want Mother’s Day delivery. These are from M&S, Next and Interflora.
Chocolate
Who doesn’t love chocolate? I’m not just talking about your generic Cadbury bar or Nestle; I’m talking about the proper stuff. Get down to Hotel Chocolat or Chococo and pick out something that is sure to impress.
Photo album
For something a bit more personal, a photo album would make a lovely gift. Fill it with memories of you and your mum and make it into something she can keep forever.
Lush
You know I love a Lush product. The inventor of the Bath Bomb has some great Mother’s Day gifts at the moment. Incredible Mum, Madame President and Mum Look What I Made You are just some of the products that our exclusively for Mother’s Day. If you haven’t already, check out my Lush Haul post to get even more ideas!
Afternoon tea
I always feel like Afternoon Tea is a proper treat. I mean, I never take myself off just to have a random Afternoon Tea so I do find them really special. There’s something quite cute about all those dinky sandwiches and mini victoria sponges. I would highly recommend Lewtrenchard Manor’s Afternoon Tea; click here to read my review. Here are some of the best Afternoon Tea offers currently available:
Woodbury Park – £12.95 per person
Lewtrenchard Manor – £19.50
Patisserie Valerie (for 2) – £25
Spa Day
Want to push the boat out? Treat your mum to a lovely, relaxing spa day. After all, she definitely deserves it! The Haven Spa in Exeter has a tempting Mother and Daughter Pamper Package for £140 per person (5 hours) or check out the Bannatyne’s Health Club offer, £55 per person at multiple locations.
Movie Night
If you just fancy some quality time with your mum, a movie night would be perfect. Make it special by whipping up a scrumptious meal for her, bulk buy popcorn and chocolate and stick on a girly movie. I absolutely love Mother’s Day starring Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Julia Roberts. It’s on Netflix if you fancy giving it a watch.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mum’s out there! I hope you get spoilt rotten xxxx
