Lean in 15: The Shape Plan

She Who Live Green Eggs and Ham

If you’ve been following me for a while, you will know by now that I absolutely love Joe Wicks, aka The Body Coach. His love for food, passion for a healthy lifestyle and understanding of how much exercise people can realistically fit into their day has led him to become a fitness sensation.

With 1.2 million followers on Instagram, he’s built up a Lean in 15 army with people constantly sharing their versions of his recipes and their progress on his 90 day SSS plan. His first book topped the bestseller charts and now his second book has also become a massive hit.

As a lover of the first book, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the second, which was released on 16th June. Like the first book, it has a few pages at the beginning explaining who Joe is, his beliefs and how his plan works. In short, you need to eat real food and do your exercises!

Flicking through, you can see that there’s an array of delicious recipes to choose from. What I love about the recipes is that they are all made up of familiar, simple ingredients which I know I can get in Sainsburys! Sometimes, I get put off by healthy recipe books because they are made up of ingredients that I have never heard of! I can just imagine the look on a sales assistants face when I ask if they have any Hemp Oil!

Obviously, I want to try all of the recipes in this book but so far I have only made a dent in it! Here is what I have made so far:

Grilled Salmon with Avocado, Feta and Pumpkin seeds

Now for this dish, I actually baked my salmon fillet in the oven because I don’t know how to use a grill! Plus I prefer baking my food 😉 This was absolutely delicious though. I’m a big lover of both fish and avocado so this instantly caught my eye plus it’s full of good fats. This meal is perfect for when you’ve just had a session in the gym and you are in need of some more fuel. Don’t be fooled with how small the portion may look. The mix of avocado, onion, pumpkin seeds and feta, all with that succulent salmon underneath really does fill you up. It’s so simple to make as well. Most of the ingredients, I already had in my kitchen!

Greens, Eggs and Ham

Green eggs and ham

This beauty was the first dish I tried out of Joe’s new book. I have been converted into a massive breakfast lover after realizing that having a good, nourishing breakfast gives you the most amazing energy for the rest of the morning. It’s really easy to get into a boring breakfast routine where you have the same thing day after day so I am constantly on the look out for new ideas. This one can be whipped up in 15 minutes and is perfect for the weekend when I like to have a cooked breakfast. It’s not full of fat because you aren’t cooking with bacon and you aren’t cooking in fatty oil. Make sure to use coconut oil to get all the health benefits from this one! The combination of the tomato, mushroom and spinach really is the best flavor explosion ever!

Chunky Monkey smoothie

When I saw that this was described in the book as “tastes like a snickers bar” I was like YES PLEASE! I have a major sweet tooth so this is perfect for if you’re about to reach for the biscuit tin. With a smooth blend of peanut butter, cacao powder, sesame seeds, banana and almond milk, it’s hard not to think that you are being really naughty!

Have you tried any of the recipes from Lean in 15 book 2 yet? If you have tweet me your photos @SheWhoLives1 and remember to follow me on Instagram, @abi_bram where I post all of the dishes that I try!
