What have I been watching: August 2018

what have I been watching

Hello lovelies! Ooo it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these hasn’t it? Probably because I try and get a little bit of a life through the summer and spend my days on the beach rather than sat in front of the TV. However, let’s not kid ourselves. There’s always a little bit of room for some television isn’t there and summer is particularly good for reality TV. So, what have I been watching?

Love Island

Like 90% of the nation, I have been watching the latest season of Love Island religiously and I am SO happy that Jack and Dani won. Let’s be honest, it wasn’t a surprise. They were the only couple that were solid from start to finish. What I love about those two is that they’re so real and relatable. Jack didn’t have an 8-pack and Dani didn’t care what anyone thought about her. She was honest with everyone and had a great personality. I’m glad real people won it this time. I enjoyed the season for the most part but I did think that it started to get a bit boring towards the end. There definitely wasn’t as much drama compared to last year’s series. And am I the only one who doesn’t warm to Caroline Flack? The best moment of the series has got to be when Alex and Josh were having a pushchair race and Alex went ass over tit – let’s watch that again (skip to 1:53)!

Keeping up with the Kardashians

Funny story. I once swore that I would never watch Keeping up with the Kardashians. I know, I know, I’m the reality TV queen but I just can’t stand Kim Kardashian therefore, didn’t think it would be for me. However, after seeing parts of it on 4 music and then buying a Hayu subscription, curiosity became the better of me. I started watching season 14 (no, I didn’t watch it from season 1 as that would have taken me forever!) and just got really hooked. Yes, I still find Kim Kardashian irritating as hell but I love Khloe, Kylie and surprisingly Scott! It’s such an easy show to binge watch and I even got so impatient waiting for the next season that I went back and watched season 12 and 13. Now, season 15 has started up and I already find myself waiting for Monday’s to come around when the episodes are uploaded on to Hayu. Episode 1 went off with a bang with Kim sniping at Kourtney: “No one wants you at the photo shoot. You’re the least interesting to look at!” Ooooosh! I can’t wait to see what this season brings! Will Kylie be introducing Stormi to the world? Will we get to see the aftermath of the claims that Tristan cheated on Khloe whilst she was pregnant? We’ll just have to wait and see!

Very Cavallari

As a massive Hills fan, I had to catch my breath when I saw this pop up on my Hayu dashboard! Seven years after The Hills finished (yes, it’s been seven years guys!), this show follows Kristen Cavallari’s life as a mother of three, wife and CEO of her new company, Uncommon James. Now living in Nashville, we get to see how far Kristen has come since her Hills days and what her life is like now. I’ve only watched the first couple of episodes but so far I am loving it! She’s a lot different than she was in The Hills – I actually didn’t warm to her back then. She’s grown up a lot and knows what she wants which is so great to watch. Uncommon James looks like such a great business and I’m already obsessing over their rings. Expect plenty of bitchy colleagues, boy drama and cat fights!

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation

If you’ve been with me for a while, you’ll know that me and my bestie Gemma are OBSESSED with Jersey Shore. We’ve seen every season a million times, got the DVDs and even visited the real shore house, including Danny’s T-Shirt store. So, you can imagine I freaked out when I heard that they were all getting together for another season six years after they wrapped the last. Minus Sammi, Snooki, Jwoww, Deana, Ronnie, Vinny, Pauly D and Mike ‘The Situation’ are all back for an incredible summer. Although not in the shore house, they are still just as crazy as ever which I LOVE! I was worried that now they’re all grown up with other halves and kids that they wouldn’t be as wild. I was so wrong and I’m glad I was! It’s just like the old days with the drinking, partying, drama and fights. I love it!
